Bonhams Cars : 1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione 'MARTINI 5' VIN. ZLA831AB000568599 Engine no. 831E5.000

1,995cc Turbocharged 16-Valve 4-Cylinder Engine Electronic Fuel Injection 210bhp at 5,750rpm 5-Speed Manual Transmission – All Wheel Drive 4-Wheel Independent Suspension 4-Wheel Disc Brakes *Extremely well-preserved example with just over 21,927 kms (13,624 mls) from new *Number 374 of just 400 'Martini 5' special edition examples manufactured *Believed to be the only Integrale Martini 5 legalized for California use *A collector car prone to be increasingly appreciated for decades to come *Italian built, rally-bred all-wheel drive icon THE DELTA HF INTEGRALE EVO 1 As a road-going, limited edition Halo-car - paying tribute to its domination of the Constructors' World Rally Championship for the sixth consecutive year in 1992 - Lancia set out to build a special Delta HF Integrale Evo 1 to commemorate the occasion; six World Rally Championships, something no other car has since duplicated. First came the Martini 5 model, then after the sixth championship was achieved, the Martini 6 was released. The Martini 5 was the most extreme Integrale that came from Lancia at that time, boasting many upgrades to the engine power output as well as well as revisions to the suspension, brakes and wheels. Where the exterior details are subtle, the interior changes were also obvious. The popular high-back adjustable Recaro bucket seats and interior trim were finished in a stunning and black Alcantara, with HF logos embossed on the headrests, an alcantara headliner and red seatbelts. A sport steering wheel was added as well as a specific numbered plaque at the base of the shifter, specifying which number car was built. The Integrale featured one of the greatest designs of gauges, still today, the gauge cluster proves to be one of the most stylish, retro, yet easy to read gauge displays. With a proven all-wheel drive system, rally-bred suspension and a potent turbocharged engine, this was one of the most iconic compact cars to come from Italy at the time. Couple that with some aggressive fender flares and timeless Martini stripes, the car was sure to be an icon for years to come. The Martini 5 was one of the best iterations of the venerable Integrale. THE CAR OFFERED This stunningly original and well-documented example is number 374 of the 400 'Martini 5' special edition examples produced by Lancia to commemorate their 5th consecutive Constructors' World Rally Championship win in 1991. This Evoluzione model was sold new in Japan where it spent the majority of its life before making its way to Spain for a short period of time. It was then imported into the United States and acquired by its current owner. After taking delivery, the car was then sent to G&K Automotive Conversion in California to be federalized and made legal for use in California. This vehicle is titled and carries a California license plate, one of few, if not the only Integrale legal in the Golden State. Today this rare, 1 of 400 Delta Integrale HF Evo 1 Martini 5, remains in beautiful original and preserved condition throughout, while displaying just under 21,927 kilometers (13,624 miles) on one of the most iconic and retro looking gauge clusters available. This Integrale has been serviced quite extensively throughout its recent life, with most of the services documented during its current and past ownership. The most recent services were completed in 2017, 2019 and most recently in 2021. Most invoices are available for this recent work. There are some invoices available during its life when living in Japan, these invoices would require some translation. Factory applied decals, markings and identification plates remain intact, and inside, the original striking Recaro alcantara seats remain in exceptional condition, reflecting the pampered life and low mileage. The Lancia is finished in Bianco exterior with Martini stripes over a Black interior, covered mainly in well-presented alcantara with red deviated stitching and red seatbelts. The sporty Recaro buckets prominently display the HF logo in each of the headrests. The car is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama tires, reminiscent of the factory wheels that came on the car when new. The car will also come accompanied with its factory 15-inch Speedline wheels as well. Adding to the outstanding original condition are the accompanying items and documentation offered with the car, including the Lancia tool kit, jack, owners and service manuals in pouch, as well as current and previous service invoices, previous ownership and registration paperwork, California Air Research Board (CARB) certificate of conformance, importation paperwork as well as a custom Martini car cover. Commemorating Lancia's incredible five consecutive World Rally Championships, this 'Martini 5' represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of the Lancia Rally legend, and it is indisputably a collector car which will be increasingly appreciated for decades to come.
