Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC: Japanese writer Haruki Murakami and his wife Yoko appear after Murakami was awarded the Franz Kafka Award for 2006, 30 October 2006 in Prague. Murakami has been inspired by the works of the Prague-born German-Jewish writer since his youth, he told reporters. He said that people's souls and hearts are so broad that they are able to share a lot in common despite cultural differences.
