The Mies van der Rohe MR100 Lounge Chair takes advantage of the aesthetic qualities of tubular steel, a supposedly utilitarian material while exuding luxury through the contrast between padded leather and the minimalism of its chrome frame. Designed in 1931, it uses a similar design as the other chairs in the MR series. The cantilever frame was reinforced giving the chair strength and comfort at the same time.
