Many legends and fairy tales are associated with geese, including the one about St. Martin, a Saint that is loved and respected throughout the country. It is believed, that it was the geese that accompanied the Saint everywhere, and in gratitude, he took them under his protection. A Bohemian white goose with a blue polka dot bow adorns the famous Thun 1794 porcelain, which brought the Czech Republic world fame. Czech porcelain is extremely lightweight but sturdy and durable.
